We mourn the passing of Retired Journeyman Inside Wireman Brother Jerry Dillow, who was 85 years old, and had been a member of Local 569 and the IBEW for over 60 years.
Brother Dillow began his Lineman career in Local 1245. Soon, he was drawn to San Diego, specifically by work at S.D.G.& E. As a Lineman at that time, Jerry was then dispatched to Amco, and back again to S.D.G.& E.
By the mid-70s, two more line contractors, as well as S.D.G.&E. would benefit from Jerry’s experience and expertise. When the 80s rolled around, Jerry made the transition to Journeyman Inside Wireman, and was dispatched to Donovan Construction; three dispatches in succession. Then came Bechtel Units 2 & 3.
After Bechtel, he was dispatched to Kingston, and then Jerry would go on to work for Herzog Corporation. He took one more job at OGG in mid-1983. Jerry fully retired in 2001.
Brother Dillow will be remembered for his upbeat manner and great sense of humor, and we will miss him.
