We mourn the passing of retired Brother Arthur (Art) J. Novello, Jr. He was 68 years old, and had been a Local 569 member for over 36 years. Brother Novello was a true San Diego native, who graduated from Sweetwater High in 1974.
For the next 13 years, “Art” followed other life paths, until he realized that Local 569 had a great apprenticeship program. He began his electrical construction career at Bob Vanderlinden Electric, in 1987.
Art would continue to hone his craft at Saturn Electric, Southland Electric, Fuller Electric, and Dynalectric. He completed his apprenticeship at Neal Electric, in late 1991. Soon after, Art was dispatched to SoCal Electric.
Then, Art would find a ‘home’ at Greyhound Exposition Service (which would later become GES – Global Experience Specialists). He worked there from 1992 through mid-2019.
Art will be remembered as an upbeat and kind member, with a ready smile and his distinctive laugh. We will surely miss him.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Fri., July 12th, at 3 PM, at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, located at 6450 Plaza Blvd., San Diego, 92114.
