We mourn the passing of Brother Johnson, Journeyman Wireman, who passed on Sat., Nov. 21st. He was 68 years old, and had been a member of Local 569 for over 45 years.
By the time Arno arrived at Local 569 (early 1970), he knew that electrical construction was his calling. He had already worked in warehousing and as a material handler for Smith Electric, Sunlight Electric, successively.
Arno began his Local 569 career, as a material handler, at Robby’s Electric in Feb. 1970. By Feb. 1971, he began working, as an Apprentice Wireman, at Mesa Electric. Arno learned his craft under the watchful ‘eyes’ of Mesa, Chula Vista Electric, Hamilton Electric, and Saturn Electric. He graduated in August 1974, and would go on to ‘make his mark’ at Bechtel Unit 1, CALEWO, Fuller Electric (7½ years), Robinson (Foreman), and Neal (Foreman). Arno was hired, as a Foreman, at Fuller Electric in early 2006, which would become his ‘home’.
Services will be held at the Immaculata Catholic Church, which is on the USD campus, on Friday, Nov. 27th, at 10 am.
The address is 5998 Alcala Park, San Diego, CA 92110. Free parking at lots either adjacent to or directly across from the church.
