The 2018 John S. Lyons Memorial Foundation Scholarship flyers are now available!
Amounts range from $2,500 – $5,500 and an applicant must be a high school senior enrolled in a San Diego or Imperial County school system whose parent or legal guardian is a member in good standing of any local labor union. Students must have a 3.0 or better GPA.
Deadline is January 26, 2018.
Additionally, there are other scholarship opportunities available via the San diego Foundation: https://www.sdfoundation.org/students/community-scholarship-program/. They offer about 140 different scholarships (the application opens 12/1/17), and last year awarded $2.8M to nearly 1,000 San Diego students. They also offer scholarships for all types of post-secondary education, including trade and vocational.
