We mourn the passing of Retired Journeyman Inside Wireman Brother
John (better known as Jack) L. Dimond, who was 89 years old, and had been a member for over 64 years.
Jack was born in San Diego, and graduated from Helix High. For the next 7 years, he explored life’s different avenues. By 1960, though, Jack would discover the Union electrical world, by being accepted into Local 569’s Joint Apprenticeship Training Program.
His first employer was S.D.G. & E. Jack continued to learn his craft at Burton Electric, S & Y Enterprises, and A.W. Myers. After graduating, he continued to hone his skills over the next 30+ years, by being dispatched to: Myers (then A.W. Myers) – twice, Fischbach & Moore (F&M) – 4 times, Oliver & Sons – twice, Foshay – twice, Service Electric, Standard, Capitol, Arrow, American, Atlas, South Bay, Morrow-Meadows, S.D.G.& E. (again), Chula Vista, and Bechtel (12 separate dispatches). Two of these dispatches were as a Foreman.
Brother Dimond fully retired in early 1997. He was living out of state at the time of his passing.
