Rest In Power Brother Howard Friedman

We mourn the loss of Retired Journeyman Inside Wireman Howard Friedman, who was 82 years old, and had been an IBEW and Local 569 member for over 50 years.

Brother Friedman was originally from Chicago, and he completed his apprenticeship through Local 134, in 1964. By 1976, Howard and his family moved to San Diego, and never looked back.  His first San Diego shop was McMIllon, and then he was dispatched to R.B. Electric, where he spent the next 7 years. During his career, Howard would be dispatched to Neal Electric (3 dispatches), Interface, Action Electric, and Robinson Electric (3 dispatches). Then, after work, for several years, he’d assist at the Electrical Training Institute (aka JATC during the 90s).

In his spare time, Brother Friedman found time to not only play soccer, but also coached the sport.  As an active athlete, he also enjoyed cycling.  Howard retired in mid-2008. He was definitely a “people” person, who liked coming into the Hall to attend to business.

With his upbeat attitude and great smile, he was always a joy to assist, and we will miss him.

Services will be held on Mon., April 21st, at 1 PM, at the Am Israel Mortuary, 6316 El Cajon Blvd., San Diego, CA  92115.
