We mourn the passing of Retired Brother Everett Chapman, who was 84 years old, and had been a member of Local 569 and the I.B.E.W. for over 53 years.
Brother Chapman, originally from Toledo, Ohio, made his way to Los Angeles (Local 11) by the early 70s, and then to this Local by 1976. He was first dispatched to Sunflower Electric, and never looked back. “Eddie” eventually transferred his membership to Local 569. He would work for Bob Vanderlinden Electric, C & J Enterprises, Baker Electric, and Southland Electric through early 1988. Then Baker Electric tapped Eddie to be their Estimator/Project Manager for more than a year. After Baker, he was dispatched to Interstate Electric, where he would stay for two years. Vantage Electric came next, and hired Eddie as a Foreman for more than a year. Chula Vista Electric was his next and last ‘stint’, where he’d work until just 2 weeks shy of 20 years, before retiring, in 2003.
