We mourn the passing of Retired Journeyman Inside Wireman Rodney D. Wilkins, who was 90 years old, and had been a Local 569 member for over 66 years.
Brother Wilkins was a San Diegan, born and raised. By the time he turned 23, Rodney was indentured into Local 569’s Apprentice Wireman program. He would learn his craft by working at Encanto Electric (3 dispatches), California Electric Works (CALEWO), and Walters Electric.
After his graduation, Rodney continued to hone his craft at a wide range of contractors, including Finn’s Electric, Fischbach & Moore (F&M), Ets Hokin & Galvan, Schwarz, Solar Electric, Mac Electric (2 dispatches), Bowman, Young Electric (3 dispatches), South Bay Electric, D. Wilkins Electric (2 dispatches), Arrow, Morrow-Meadows (2 dispatches), and Saturn (2 dispatches). Brother Wilkins was working for Saturn, when he decided to retire from the industry, in 1997.
