Today, the San Diego County Board of Supervisors voted to support the Jacumba Valley Ranch (JVR) Energy Park. This $200 million project includes 90 MW of new solar and 20 MW of battery storage – and will provide clean power to 52,000 local households. This project creates 350 good, middle-class green UNION jobs for local workers, which will advance apprenticeship opportunities and developer BayWa r.e. has added $4 million in new community benefits!
This vote is a step in the right direction to support our region’s clean energy goals and good quality jobs for county residents.
Thank you Supervisor Fletcher, Supervisor Terra Lawson-Remer, Supervisor Nora Vargas, Supervisor Joel Anderson, and Supervisor Jim Desmond.
