International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers Local 569 of San Diego and Imperial counties will host a team from the U.S. Veterans Administration to review benefits available for area veterans at a free seminar Saturday, Sept. 8, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Founded in 1920, IBEW Local 569 has almost a century of electrical experience. Members are skilled professionals who receive ongoing training throughout their career at our Electrical Training Centers located in San Diego and Imperial counties. IBEW Local 569’s leadership includes military veterans, and the local, a participant in the “Helmets to Hardhats” program, is committed to providing the best support and training possible to veterans.
The Sept. 8 seminar will review free benefits veterans have earned, including health benefits, compensation, education, home loans and small business assistance. The VA will also have a team on site to process veterans’ claims. The local also will connect interested veterans to careers in the electrical industry.
Former State Assembly Member and veterans advocate Nathan Fletcher will speak. Lunch will be provided at no cost. The event will be at the IBEW 569 Hall, 4545 Viewridge Ave., Suite B, in San Diego.
IBEW Local 569 Lead Organizer Ramon Castro is coordinating the seminar and is available for interviews before or during the event. For questions or to arrange an interview, contact Launce Rake at Summers Strategies at (702) 917-7541.
