IBEW Local 569 and our environmental, community, public health and environmental justice allies are urging the California Air Resources Board to adopt a strong Advanced Clean Trucks (ACT) rule. The proposed ACT rule CARB is considering would be the first of its kind in the nation and a big step to cleaner air, reducing climate pollution and more electrical work for IBEW 569 members through charging infrastructure buildout for medium and heavy-duty vehicles.
Unfortunately, there are those who are trying to use the COVID-19 crisis to derail this critical action to get clean trucks on the road. We need to send CARB a strong message to stay the course, adopt the ACT rule and reject misguided attempts to weaken California’s climate and clean transportation leadership. In fact, recent data has shown areas with high air pollution are more susceptible to the most severe impacts of COVID-19. Let’s get these clean trucks on the road, clean up our air and increase work opportunities for IBEW 569 members!
Can you send a quick comment to CARB supporting the ACT rule and urging them to adopt it? Comments must be submitted by midnight, May 28th:

Here is a sample draft CARB comment:
I support the Advanced Clean Trucks Rule and urge you to vote yes to adopt it. California has some of the worst air pollution in the nation. By getting clean trucks on the road, we can have healthier communities, help address climate change and create electrical work opportunities. The Advanced Clean Trucks Rule is a win-win for working families and our environment. Please move forward with this critical rule and vote YES!
