Labor Council: Fast Recovery Act (AB 257) Action

An action will be held to stand with fast food workers on June 9th to show your support for ways to improve this industry.
Strike lines, rallies and teach-ins across the state, fast food workers and SEIU members will stand together to support passage of AB 257.
Date: June 9
Time: 8:00am meet, program should end by 10 at the latest; we can get more specific a little closer to time and/or work with politicians on their schedule
Address: 9357 Spectrum Center Blvd, San Diego, CA 92123
Invitation:
Fast food workers around the state are standing up to protest wage theft, sexual harassment, low wages and anti-union attacks.
California fast food workers have been organizing for a decade to raise wages and win more power in their industry. In 2016, along with SEIU members, they made history when California passed $15/hour. In 2022, fast food workers are on the verge of winning a seat at the table through AB 257, the FAST Recovery Act.
The Fast Recovery Act would establish a process for workers and employers to work together to improve wages and working conditions in one of the most dangerous industries in the country.
The Fast Recovery Act will:
- create minimum standards for wages & work conditions
- protect workers from being fired for organizing
- establish sectoral bargaining w/ a fast food worker council
